 Request Final Transcripts

Tulane requires an official transcript to be sent directly from each college or university you have attended. The transcripts you submitted to LSAC during the admission process do not satisfy this requirement. Official electronic transcripts should be sent to agaron@tulane.edu. Physical copies sent through the mail also be mailed should be sent directly from your institution to the Office of Admission. Final transcripts for recently conferred degrees should be sent to both Tulane and LSAC. Students who previously attended Tulane still need to send an official copy to our office.

 Submit Certification Forms

Students must submit a certification form disclosing records from every college or university attended, signed by the appropriate official (typically the official in charge of academic or disciplinary records). This form is available here.

 Check Your Tulane Student Email

You have been assigned a Tulane student ID number along with an @tulane.edu email address when you are entered into the Tulane student database. You will receive a notification when this occurs, and we suggest checking this email often.

      July

 Find Housing

Ordinarily, most students secure housing during the months of June and July, though plenty of options will still be available for those who wait until August. Information about housing in New Orleans, roommate listings, and rental listings are located here

Submit Your Tulane Student ID Photo

The Tulane Card Services office will email you a link to upload your student ID photo in late-July. Photos must meet certain guidelines and should be submitted before August 1st. Please note, you will be unable to submit a photo if you have not submitted immunization records (see below). Further information, along with submission instructions, can be found here. Questions for Splash Card Services can be sent to splashcard@tulane.edu

 Submit Immunization Records

All students are required to submit immunization records via the Health Center's Patient Portal by July 15. For privacy reasons, all forms and questions regarding immunization must be directed to campus health. More information is available on their website. You will only be able to complete this step once you have been assigned a Tulane student ID number. If you are unable to submit your forms by July 15th, a hold will be placed on your registration schedule. Our Dean of Academic Services is able to override this hold, so technically, you will have until October to submit them. Students without forms on file by October will not be permitted to register for Spring 2021 courses. Questions can be sent to immunizations@tulane.edu. You SHOULD NOT send health forms to that email. You can also call them at 504-865-5255

 Finalize Your Financial Aid Plans

A separate checklist for finalizing your financial aid plans is available on the financial aid section of this website. If you were awarded a merit-based scholarship at the time of admission, there is no need to confirm or accept this award other than by paying your commitment deposit. Loans will be reflected on your Gibson Account in August. Scholarships may post during the summer. Tuition will post to your account by either July 15th or August 15th, depending on whether our Dean of Academic Services receives permission to register you for courses by July 14th.

 Complete Select Health Insurance Options

University policy requires all law students to carry health insurance. Students will be automatically enrolled in and charged for the Tulane Student Health Insurance Plan (T-SHIP) unless they are covered by another qualifying plan and complete a waiver form by August 15. More details are available on the T-SHIP website. You will not be able to waive coverage until you have been assigned a Tulane ID number. To learn how to opt-out of the T-SHIP, visit https://campushealth.tulane.edu/insurance-billing/how-opt-out-t-ship. Visit https://campushealth.tulane.edu/graduate-professional for more information. You can call the Student Health Center at 504-865-5255.

Complete The Entering Surveys and Locker Request Form

Students are required to complete the Entering Student Survey and the Orientation Event Registration form prior to the first day of orientation. This form will be available in late July or early August, and you will be sent a link to it via email. Additionally, all students are assigned and charged for a locker unless they affirmatively opt out. Please use this form to either select your locker preferences or opt out. Locker assignments are administered by the Student Bar Association (SBA).

 Buy Textbooks

Finalized class schedules and textbook lists are provided to first-year students at orientation. All 1Ls are registered for classes by the Assistant Dean of Academic Services, but class schedules are frequently adjusted throughout the summer. Schedules are not finalized until the week of Orientation, so we do not recommend purchasing any books prior to orientation. Textbooks will be available for purchase during orientation at the campus bookstore.

 Confirm Your Enrollment

 Pay Your Fall Tuition

Tuition bills for the fall semester will be processed on Monday, July 13, 2020 and posted to student accounts the following day. If you have a scholarship or are receiving federal student loans and have completed all required steps for disbursement (see the Loan Checklist and Gibson Online for any outstanding requirements) your bill will show those funds as authorized payments and reduce your total amount due accordingly. Payment is due by 4:00 p.m. on August 14, 2020. Optional ancillary charges (locker rental fee, bookstore charges, etc.) will not appear on your initial fall tuition bill. It is your responsibility to ensure timely payment of these charges when they appear on your student account in subsequent billing cycles.
